A Tale of Two Beds

Recently, I sold a set of exquisite twin Italian Tole Cherub Beds from the 19th century...they were my absolute favorite antiques, but felt it was time for someone else to enjoy.  After purchasing many years ago and displaying in my antiques shop, I added them to my private collection and have enjoyed the amazing beauty they added to my home.

I miss them already but know they have gone to someone who appreciates their beauty, style and grace as much as I have.

I am constantly looking for the exquisite, unique and rare find in antiques and relish a good buy, but also am happy when I have a good sale as well.

Sizzlin' Summer Vacations

Every summer I visit my home state of Texas with its vast array of mesquite, cactus and sage landscapes and rustic wild west and spanish architecture, to enjoy the company of family and friends.

The rustic style of the old wild west inspire me in my decorating designs at times.

In San Antonio, my favorite Texas city, there is the historic Alamo and just steps from The Alamo is the uniquely beautiful San Antonio Riverwalk where the San Antonio river winds its way through the downtown area with shops, restaurants and bars nestled along its tree lined banks. The history here is evident in it's old hotels, missions and buildings. I always enjoy the romantic ambiance of my San Antonio riverwalk...

Yes, I'm a Texas girl at heart, but love the quaint charm of Florida's tourist towns too, where I spent the first part of my summer.

Living in Florida, I visit many places here and Key West is one of my favorites with that unmistakable island feel and adorable victorian homes that the "conchs" have lived in since the 1800's. Pirates inhabited Key West in the 1700's and left a mystique on the island that continue to lure visitors young and old.

In my travels, I find throughout the world there are many fascinating and beautiful places where history abounds and I love experiencing all the world has to offer, but it's as they say "there's no place like home" for me.

I wish you many wonderful travels and a place full of love and happiness to come home to...

Spring Into Summer

It's time to Spring Into Summer with this memorial day weekend coming and all the summer vacation preparations to be made. I've been keeping myself busy with a few Estate Sales over the last couple of months and have been neglecting my blog posts, I'm afraid. But, I'm happy to say, I've managed to find a few great vintage treasures to add to my collection of Vintage Finds...

Deco Cannister Set

These very chic cannisters with a deco flair are perfect for the vintage kitchen or any kitchen with their sleek fine lines and pristine white color. Look for them in the Vintage Finds and Porcelains categories.

And, I have a little something for the guys for Father's Day in June...

and lots of vintage tie clasps and ties soon to be on the website for you to browse.

I hope you visit again soon and let's spring into summer!

I like using my "oldies but goodies" Easter snow globes that I've collected over the years in my Easter decorating.

My vintage "bunnies at the fence", perfectly chippy and aged, that I found years ago at a flea market has decorated the backyard for the easter egg hunts...

...as well as, the large inexpensive basket eggs used to hide loads of easter goodies. I personalized one for each of my children and hid them in plain sight.
